TITLE:
Assistant Professor, Dryland Cropping Systems Agronomist
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Conduct cropping systems research to improve production cost efficiency and product quality for non-irrigated crops. Emphasis is on developing economically and biologically sustainable agricultural practices for cereals, legumes, and new crops. Work includes but is not limited to crop rotations, long-term experiments, alternate crops, drought tolerance and disease interactions, and site-specific farming. Interact with other staff, farmers, and professional colleagues to promote efficient research and programmatic relationships in the multi-disciplinary, multi-agency environment at the research center. Participate in local and regional industry meetings, professional societies, research center, departmental, college, and university committees as appropriate and other service activities. Participate in extended education activities with grade school through university level students and adults.
