The Long Term Experiments at Pendleton

The Pendleton Agricultural Research Center is the site of the oldest continuously conducted cropping experiments in the western US.  The earliest was started in 1931 and several others have been initiated since then.  Long-term research is crucial because it guides future agricultural development by identifying the effects of crop rotation, variety development, fertilizer use, aerial and surface contamination, and organic amendments on soil productivity and other beneficial soil properties.
